Priestess’s Life

I began my journey with the Tarot in my early twenties, learning the Thoth deck as part of a Wiccan/Witchcraft training. I found it a perfect way for me to connect deeper with my intuition and weave together myth and story to answer my spoken and unspoken questions.
As part of the training I came to Glastonbury for the second time and there a series of synchronous events began that led to me arriving to live on the Isle. During these years I continued to read the cards, and the runes for myself, and for friends and acquaintances. I even had a Oracle deck created for me to read as part of a large-scale LARP campaign.
Part of the move to Glastonbury was to allow me take part in Avalon based spiritual trainings and I began the three spirals Priestess of Avalon training with the Glastonbury Goddess Temple. Alongside this I also began Psychic Development Training with Sally and Sophie Pullinger at Deep Connection. In our training space there was a deck of Motherpeace cards and occasionally we would draw a card each during breaks. I always seemed to draw the High Priestess which was both apt – as I was stepping into my voice and my path – and made us all laugh. I celebrated a big birthday that year and, at my party, Sophie handed me the deck and said, “I think these belong with you now.” Now, traditionally, we’re not supposed to buy our deck of Tarot cards, they’re supposed to be gifted by a mentor, or more experienced Reader, so this felt profound and timely.
I started using them and life started to fall into place; I was invited to take part in monthly Pamper Evenings at the Goddess Hall held by Annie Sapsead, which were a seed that grew into Goddess House. I had taken the big step into reading the cards, for payment, for strangers. I was asked to join the group of Readers at the Morgen Room – the upstairs room at Goddess Temple Gifts. I expanded my practice to couples readings, events readings and group readings, offering Seasonal readings to visiting groups. Then I was invited to speak at the Mexican Goddess Conference and there I got to meet Vicki Noble, one of the creators of the deck. Vicki showed me the deep generosity of a Goddess woman as she shared her wisdom and perspective on Readings that I did for people during that week.
I’ve continued to deepen my practice using the Motherpeace deck, whilst also enjoying the abundance of decks now available, and beginning to dream of a deck of my own. I’ve hugely enjoyed teaching and supporting other readers in recent years and am delighted to expand into teaching a course on Tarot and supervising Readers at this time of increasing interest in the cards.
